DARK SKY GEAR LIBRARY & DIY SHOP
Open June – October
The gear library/DIY shop is located in the Dark Sky Gear Library in Hailey, Idaho, and is a free service available to Wood River residents and visitors to outfit their bikes. The library is outfitted with bike packing bags and a few other essential self-supporting bike packing gear for local 2-3 day adventures. The DIY shop is loaded with tools, stands, spit and shine stuff, bike wash, for a little tune up before your adventure or for those traveling through town on bikes. The philosophy of the gear library is to provide the means for riders of all ages to introduce themselves to bikepacking and for continued cosmic adventures. Outfitting a bike can be an expensive undertaking and the library helps overcome the cost barriers of bike packing. Having the opportunity to try high-quality premium gear, talk with our staff, and personalize your bike adventure creates a significantly more enjoyable and experiential outdoor learning experience. Use the contact form for additional information and/or to make an outfitting or DIY appointment, and start planning your adventure! I might be out riding so please give me a little time to reply.
